Miguel Vélez is a passionate architect, design thought leader and facilitator focusing in project design, construction & business management. He worked in the 2000’s for architectural design firms and construction companies in Spain. Since 2008, he started to work abroad by being involved in the construction and management process of large projects in Qatar & UEA.
In the 2010´s, his assignments took him to Singapore, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, China, Australia, and Thailand for the advising and implementing of the technical and best practice tools and methodologies and managing the end to end construction and design process. As result of all these interactions in different countries, he got an additional value as high effectiveness in communication in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments. From 2013 onwards, he did a deep dive into business management 2013 as his work experience was shining new light on understanding his architectural background mixed with the business assignment taken along those different countries specializing in the creation and management of organizational innovation.
He holds a Master Degree in Architecture & Urbanism from Polytechnic University of Madrid -ETSAM- (Spain) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Innovation & Design Thinking by EMERITUS Institute of Management, in collaboration with MIT Sloan, Columbia Business School Executive Education & Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. He is also a Project Manager Certified by Project Management Institute (PMI) since 2019.
Currently, he teaches at Assumption University of Thailand in architectural design, construction studio and project management since 2018.
