Bangkok Design Week 2020: Resilience. New Potential for Living

Creative Neighborhood “Thong-Ek”. Thonglor – Ekamai

Learning media by TeamChart, a team of 4^th year students from the department of Architecture for the exhibition at Thonglor-Ekamai District of an installation from recycle trash “Eco Brick,” an eco campaign led by Spacetime Architects and allies of Thong-Eak neighborhood.

Thonglor-Ekamai  district or Thong-Eak is aimed to be developed to become the future Creative District as planned by Thailand Creative Design Center (TCDC) since it contains some unique sense of history, culture and business. During Bangkok Design Week 2020, from February 1-9, 2020, “Thong-Ek Creative Neighborhood,” comprising of furniture and home decoration business entrepreneurs, architects, landscape architects, interior designers and graphic designers from Thonglor-Ekamai district, collaborate to showcase new ideas as well as creativity through the 3 main common interests of; Sustainable Green, 24-hour Lifestyle District and

Thonglor-Ekamai is aimed to be developed and become the future Creative District, planned by Thailand Creative Design Center (TCDC) since it contains some unique sense of history, culture and business.

In Bangkok Design Week 2020, from 1st to 9th February 2020, ” Thong-Ek Creative Neighborhood ” which is the special collaborative groups of furniture and home decoration business entrepreneurs, architects, landscape architects, interior designers and graphic designers from Thonglor-Ekamai district, are joining and seeking new ideas as well as creativity through the 3 main common interests of; Sustainable Green, 24-hour Lifestyle District and Design & Art Pleasure that expectedly support the sustainable growth of Thonglor-Ekamai together with the development of the city of Bangkok.

1. Sustainable Green
Sustainable Green is now trendy. But Thong-Ek people is now looking beyond to the sustainable networking among all the participants. We try to minimize the waste and encourage all entrepreneurs to do the correct waste segregation as well as to bring their own food containers and to add waste separation points whereas the database of waste will be later transmitted to create the sustainable management system. This matter is concerned by many neighborhoods of us- cafe, restaurant, design studio or resident. So, our campaign that bases on the sustainable green will conclude the activity of recycle-market, talk and installation art which made from the waste.

2. 24-hour Lifestyle District
As mentioned, Thong-Ek is the center of Lifestyle. You can find food and dessert up to night hang-out spot in this district all through 24-hour a day. There are some traditional noodle restaurant like Wattana Panich and many stylish cafe that you would feel like you cannot choose where to go. This is not including of some other neighborhood stores that join us on this special occasion.

3. Design & Art Pleasure

Thong-Ek is the collaboration of several creative business. We focus on design that can awake pleasant sense to walk and live in this district. On this special week like this, we will open our homes and activities for the public to join. There are exhibitions, installation arts, film screening, talk sessions, workshops and concerts to attend and enjoy.

 

There are 4 categories that the visitors can walk through

• Neighbor Green

Offering workshops of turning garbage to arts, urban agriculture learning, pop-up park making and temporary park at the heart of Ekamai Soi 2.

• Neighbor Art & Media

Redesigning of bus stop, pedestrian and crosswalk to create awareness of safety. Providing of open space where film screening, installation art and music & dance performing will take place.

• Neighbor Food

Serving local dishes on special design plate with reasonable price in the mood of neighborhood party.

• Neighbor Common

Getting to know the local history-in-brief through the house, shophouse and canal where some art & photography will be placed. Along with talk sessions with the architects who will share their ideas in designing Thai Contemporary Architecture.

กลุ่มเพื่อนบ้านสร้างสรรค์ “ทองเอก” ทองหล่อ-เอกมัย

สื่อการเรียนรู้ที่จัดทำโดย “ทีมชาติ” จากกลุ่มของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 จากภาควิชาสถาปัตยกรรม คณะสถาปัตยกรรมศาสตร์และการออกแบบ สำหรับการจัดแสดงนิทรรศการในพื้นที่ทองหล่อ-เอกมัย เป็นการนำแสดงการติดตั้ง Eco Brick ที่ทำจากขยะ recycle ซึ่งเป็นโครงการที่ร่วมมือกับบริษัท Spacetime Architects

ทองหล่อ-เอกมัยเป็นย่านที่ได้รับการวางแผนในการพัฒนาให้เป็นย่านสร้างสรรค์ในอนาคตโดยศูนย์สร้างสรรค์งานออกแบบแห่งประเทศไทย (ทีซีดีซี) เนื่องมาจากความมีเอกลักษณ์ในด้านประวัติศาสตร์ วัฒนธรรมและธุรกิจของย่าน

ในงานสัปดาห์การออกแบบแห่งกรุงเทพมหานคร 2563 ซึ่งจะจัดขึ้นในระหว่างวันที่ 1 ถึง 9 กุมภาพันธ์ 2563 นี้

“กลุ่มเพื่อนบ้านสร้างสรรค์ทองเอก” ซึ่งเป็นการรวมกลุ่มกันเฉพาะกิจของผู้ประกอบการธุรกิจเฟอร์นิเจอร์และของตกแต่งบ้าน สถาปนิก ภูมิสถาปนิก นักออกแบบภายใน และ นักออกแบบกราฟิก จากย่านทองหล่อ-เอกมัย ได้มาร่วมกันค้นหามุมมองใหม่และการสร้างสรรค์สิ่งใหม่ๆ ผ่านความสำคัญ 3 อย่างคือ การรักษ์โลกแบบยั่งยืน ไลฟ์สไตล์ในย่านตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง รวมถึงงานออกแบบและศิลปะ เพื่อให้ทองหล่อ-เอกมัยเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืนไปพร้อมๆกับการพัฒนาเมืองกรุงเทพมหานคร

 

1. รักษ์โลกแบบยั่งยืน
เทรนด์รักษ์โลกกำลังมาแรง แต่ชาวทองเอกมองไปไกลถึงความยั่งยืนด้วย ภายในเครือข่ายผู้เข้าร่วมทั้งหมด เราจะพยายามทำให้เกิดขยะน้อยที่สุด ส่งเสริมให้ผู้ประกอบการทุกเจ้าแยกขยะอย่างถูกต้อง พร้อมให้ผู้ใช้บริการนำภาชนะมาเอง พร้อมทั้งเพิ่มจุดแยกขยะและทำฐานข้อมูลการทิ้งขยะเพื่อการนำไปจัดการต่ออย่างยั่งยืน เพื่อนบ้านของเราที่คำนึงถึงเรื่องนี้ก็มีอยู่หลายเจ้า ไม่ว่าจะเป็นร้านกาแฟ ร้านอาหาร สตูดิโอออกแบบ หรือบ้านผู้อยู่อาศัย แคมเปญขับเคลื่อนย่านของเราเองก็คำนึงถึงเรื่องนี้ด้วย ทั้งการจัดตลาดนัดรีไซเคิล งานเสวนา และ installation art ที่นำวัสดุเหลือใช้มาสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน

2. ไลฟ์สไตล์ตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง
อย่างที่บอกว่าทองเอกคือแหล่งรวมไลฟ์สไตล์ ตั้งแต่ของคาว ยันของหวานไปจนถึงแหล่งแฮงก์เอาต์ยามค่ำคืน จบครบในย่านเดียว เรียกได้ว่ามาทองหล่อเอกมัยได้ตลอด 24 ชั่วโมง ทั้งร้านก๋วยเตี๋ยวเก่าแก่ที่ไม่ว่าใครผ่านมาก็ต้องแวะอย่างวัฒนาพาณิชย์ ร้านกาแฟและคาเฟ่ต่างๆ ที่มีเยอะและหลากหลายสไตล์จนเราเลือกเข้าแทบไม่ถูก รวมถึงร้านอื่นๆ ที่จะมาร่วมเป็นเพื่อนบ้านสร้างสรรค์กับเราในครั้งนี้ นอกจากจะเป็นความพิเศษในแบบของตัวเองแล้ว อาจมีการรวมตัวเฉพาะกิจในวาระต่างๆโดยเฉพาะด้วย

3. สุนทรีย์ไปกับงานออกแบบ และศิลปะ
ทองเอกมีการวมตัวกันของธุรกิจสร้างสรรค์มากมาย เราให้ความสำคัญกับการทำงานดีไซน์เพื่อกระตุ้นย่านให้น่าเดินและใช้ชีวิต ในโอกาสพิเศษ เราจะเปิดบ้านและกิจกรรมให้ผู้ที่สนใจได้เข้าร่วม ทั้งนิทรรศการรวมผลงาน, งานศิลปะติดตั้ง, การฉายหนัง, งานเสวนา, เวิร์คช็อป ไปจนถึงคอนเสิร์ตให้ได้เพลิดเพลินอย่างสนุกสนาน

โปรแกรมหลัก จะแบ่งย่อยออกเป็น 4 หมวดหมู่ ที่คุณสามารถเดินเท้าชมงานได้ทั้งงาน

• เพื่อนบ้านสายรักษ์โลก

กิจกรรมช่วยโลกให้น่าอยู่ อาทิ เวิร์กชอปการเปลี่ยนขยะให้เป็นงานศิลปะ เวิร์กชอปที่มุ่งเน้นให้คนมาเรียนรู้การทำเกษตรในเมืองด้วยวิธีง่าย ๆ การสร้างป็อปอัพพาร์ค เเละสวนหย่อมชั่วคราวกลางซอยเอกมัย 2

• เพื่อนบ้านสายศิลป์

กิจกรรมการปรับปรุงป้ายรถเมล์ ทางเท้า และทางข้าม เพื่อกระตุ้นการเดินให้มีความสะดวกปลอดภัยยิ่งขึ้น รวมไปถึงกิจกรรมสนุกสนานอย่างการฉายหนังกลางสวน การแสดงศิลปะติดตั้ง การแสดงดนตรี และเต้นรำจากศิลปินต่าง ๆ

• เพื่อนบ้านสายกิน

นำอาหารอร่อย ๆ ของร้านมาเสิร์ฟบนภาชนะดีไซน์แปลกใหม่ในราคาย่อมเยา เคล้าบรรยากาศ “Neighborhood party” เสมือนว่าแต่ละบ้าน นำของดีบ้านตัวเองมาโชว์

• เพื่อนบ้านสายเก๋า

ทำความรู้จักบ้านของคนเก่าคนแก่ ร้านค้าดั้งเดิม รวมถึงคลอง ที่มีประวัติศาสตร์มายาวนาน เป็นโอกาสดีที่จะพาทุกคนกลับไปย้อนวันวาน ผ่านกิจกรรมศิลปะริมคลอง พร้อมชมภาพถ่ายสถานที่โบราณ นอกจากนี้ยังมีกิจกรรมเสวนาเรื่องสถาปัตยกรรมในย่านโดยสถาปนิกผู้ซึ่งจะมาเล่าถึงแนวคิดในการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมไทยร่วมสมัย.
